25th November 2003 - Grade 2 outfit wound up
After a couple of key resignations from the Grade 2 pipe corps we have regretfully taken the difficult decision to wind up our Grade 2 band, where possible absorbing players into the Grade 1 band. The resignations had left the band without a strong enough pipe corps to successfully challenge for championship prizes next season.

The Grade 2 band has achieved a considerable amount of success over its lifetime winning a number of major championship titles in piping and drumming, including the Grade 2 World Championship in the late 1990's. Indeed the band came close to winning the Champion of Champions title the same year, which could have meant the prospect of 2 Boghall bands in the top flight. Other less obvious but equally important achievements have included numerous pipers and drummers making the move from the Grade 2 band to the organisation's senior Grade 1 band.

The band would like to thank all the members of the Grade 2 band past and present for their hard work, dedication and committment to Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia over the past 10 or so years and wish them success in the future.

13th September 2003 - European Championships, Alden Biesen
A long competition season was successfully brought to a close in Belgium with the Grade 1 band winning the European Championship title in the beautiful surroundings of Alden Biesen, securing their first championship win since Cowal 2000. The Grade 2 band achieved 4th place in their contest and both John and Alan won their respective drum major events. In addition to this both John and Allan were crowned Champion of Champions in their events.

Everyone in the organisation would like to congratulate all the bandsmen and women on their hard work, dedication and professionalism over the season. Everyone connected with Boghall are very proud of all who wear the Ancient Hunting Fraser.

We all look forward to next season with great anticipation. See you next year!

In partnership with the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band they performed at a number of engagements during their 3 day stay, culminating with the pipe band concert in Lorient's Civic Theatre on Monday 4th August.

During the pipe band concert Boghall performed the piece of music commissioned by Peoples Ltd to commemorate the centenary of the Ford Motor Company.
