Boghall Bounce Back at European Championships

The Peoples Ford Boghall & Bathgate Grade 1 band were delighted to return to the prize list on Saturday with 5th place at the European Pipe Band Championships in Forres. The corps had showed an incredible, if unwanted, consistency over the previous 24 months by finishing in 7th place at every major championship outing since Forres 2015.

Ross Harvey, after claiming his first major placing as the band’s Pipe Major, commented: “The band are over the moon to have climbed back into the top 6. We are determined to continue improving to ensure we move up the prize list still further at the Scottish Championships.”

Our Novice Bs finished 10th out of 13 bands, while the Novice A band finished 4th - their best result since Ireland 2016. PM Simpson’s band showed their class to take 3rd place in the highly competitive Juvenile grade.

The organisation has put on over 30 competitive performances already this season and all bands are now enjoying some well earned evenings off practice. It has been an especially intense period of rehearsal, fundraising and competition recently. Thank you to all players, parents, supporters and tutors for the continued tireless efforts, and to our sponsor Peoples Ford for their ongoing support. You can see the Grade 1 band in action at the Bo’ness Fair this Friday.
